Long Beach Streets will be returning to DC in March, representing the needs of our barrier island and Long Island, alongside hundreds of professional advocates, government agencies, elected officials and organizations from all 50 states at the League of American Bicyclists 3-Day National Bike Summit.
Last year we presented our Long Beach Crash Map during two breakout groups, engaging on best practices for data gathering and how to use the Crash Map to obtain results with city leaders. Engaging with other advocates on what has worked / what hasn’t worked is an insanely helpful experience.
This years conference will include the following sessions:
Understanding the New Transportation Bill,
Safety Motivations for Bike Law,
Transportation Equity Caucus,
Biking While Immigrant,
Bikes as a Tool of Economic Development in Rural Communities,
Technical Workshop for Non-lobbying Professionals,
Effective Tools and Outcomes for Bike Education,
Improving Bicycling on Federal Lands,
Vision Zero in Boston, Getting it Right,
Working with Environmental Allies for Better Biking,
Developing Women Leadership in Bicycling,
The Power of the Messenger,
Mayors Challenge Cities and Bicycle Friendly America,
in addition to State Caucus Meetings & Lobby Day
We’ll be adding to this post and keeping you updated on this years DC adventure.
