Nassau Legislature votes today to allow bikes to be confiscated

Nassau County Legislature hearing and vote today on proposed law enabling police to confiscate bicycles that are driven in a dangerous manner. No word yet on when they will confiscate cars and trucks from drivers who maim and kill.

This is not how you make Long Island streets safer, it's how you reinforce car culture.
Please let your legislator know that you bike, you vote and you do not support backwards laws that put cyclists in fear of being unfairly targeted for cycling in a manner that preserves your life. 
Nassau County Legislators ought to consider providing more safe access to Long Island streets a priority, not petty profiling. 

Every cycling club pedaling through Nassau County should be concerned.
