The Regional Planning Association (RPA) has released The Fourth Regional Plan. This is a lengthy but quickly digestible and fascinating read that breaks through short-term thinking of the past, offering 61 specific recommendations to achieve greater equity, shared prosperity, better health, and sustainability for the region. The plan is organized into four action areas that represent major challenges and areas of opportunity; Institutions, Transportation, Climate change & Affordability
Long Island Streets is one of 158 organizations across the tri-state area that has signed a join pledge to promote equity in implementing of RPA's recommendations. The other Long Island organizations include: STRONG Youth INc, Every Child Matters, Urban League of Long Island, Rauch Foundation and Long Island Builders Institute.
