The Safe Routes to School Steering Committee, NY Coalition for Transportation Safety and Long Island Streets are pedaling a tour de lemonade stand and traffic safety fair at the 2nd annual Lemonade Pedal, August 25, 2017.
This bicycle-pedestrian safety fair and ride is a free community event, suited for all ages and abilities. The fair will feature free helmet fitting, basic bicycle mechanic checks, CPR and injury tips, police bicycle registration, NY bicycle-pedestrian law and educational materials. The ride is a tour de lemonade, with a short and long route offered to accommodate beginner-intermediate and advanced cyclists. The lemonade stands are being sponsored by the NY Coalition for Transportation Safety and the Safe Routes Steering Committee which is the LB Public Schools, LBPD, Legislator Ford, AAA-Northeast, Safe Kids-New York Chapter, and LI Streets. Lemonade sponsors are the Northeast Bay & Canals Civic Association, Westholme-Walks Civic Association, Eastholme Civic Association, and our featured lemonade stand this year is sponsored by LBHS Music Teacher Andrew Rossi's daughter Maia / Maia's Fresh Lemonade Stand.
